Social risks for the furniture industry recession in the countryside of Damietta Governorate (Field study on the workers in furniture industry at one of Damietta Governorate villages)

Abstract

This research aims to knowing the furniture industry recession reasons in the countryside of Damietta Governorate, also to knowing the social risks that resulted from the furniture industry recession. A simple random sample of 377 respondents was selected in the village of Sinaniya in order to achieve the purposes of the research, and also Field data was collected using the personal interview questionnaire method. Also, the arithmetic mean and Pearson's simple correlation coefficient were used to analyze field data. The research reached several field results, the most important of which are: the most important reason of the furniture industry recession in the countryside of Damietta Governorate: the high prices of the materials, the furniture marketing problem and its accumulation in exhibitions, and the high costs of participating in large exhibitions. The field study also indicated that there is a significant direct relationship between furniture industry recession variable and the spread of social risks of (Unemployment - poverty - social alienation - the spread of family problems - the spread of social problems).
