The Social Role of Youth Centers in Developing Citizenship among Rural People in Sharkia Governorate

Abstract

This research aimed to determine the degree of knowledge of the rural youth respondents about the concept of citizenship, and the social role played by youth centers for the development of citizenship, as well as determining the degree of playing the role and the degree of rural youth benefiting from it, as well as determining the relationship between some of the personal variables of the respondents and the degree of youth centers playing this role. And to identify the obstacles that limit the development of citizenship among the respondents. The sample size reached 347 respondents who were selected from nine youth centers in a simple random manner. Data were collected through a questionnaire form during the months of July and August 2022 AD, and the data was unloaded and analyzed using some appropriate statistical methods. The most important results were the following: The total degree of knowledge of the respondents with the concept of citizenship is medium, 75.5% of the respondents have a high degree of knowledge of the social role in general, and 55.5% believe that youth centers play this role in a medium degree and that 36.6% benefit The results showed a direct correlation at a significant level of 0.01 between the age variable, and the degree of youth centers playing their social role in the development of citizenship, as well as the presence of a direct correlation at a significant level of 0.05Between the variables of cultural openness and leadership and the degree to which youth centers play their social role in the development of citizenship enough
