Abstract

Investments are one of the main tools of the economic and social development plan, in order to achieve its objectives. The total value of agricultural investment in Egypt amounted to about 49.2 billion L.E. during the year 2018/2019, and the research aims to measure the efficiency of Egyptian agricultural investments, which are Egyptian agricultural investments, whether governmental or private, and foreign agricultural investments. The study was found through the research that most of the used criteria showed an efficient investment in the agricultural sector during (2000/2001-2018/2019), and this may be due to the continued trend of the state towards economic liberalization during the period (2001/2000-2018/2019), Although investment in the agricultural sector is mostly a private investment, its value was less than the target. By measuring the efficiency of foreign agricultural investments in Egypt, using the previous efficiency standards, it was found that there was efficiency of foreign investment in the agricultural sector during the period (2000/2001-2008/2009), while some standards indicated that there was fluctuation in the efficiency of foreign investment in the agricultural sector during the period. (2009/2010- 2018/2019), and this fluctuation in the value of foreign agricultural investments may be due to the unstable political and secure conditions during this period.
